with you in mind

i never made another copy. it was the only one of its kind. unique. a one off. just like you, you see. to have made another would have somehow degraded the value of what it stood for. the entire thing was calculated precisely, with you in mind. the entire thing was put together with you in mind. every note, every beat, all there for a reason. every crescendo, every diminuendo, every staccato stutter of tune, spliced together the only way it could reflect you.

if i close my eyes i can see you now. every motion of those small graceful hands, swinging and gliding through the fug of dry ice. tacky imagery i know. but that's where i know your dance from. every footstep as you dance, swaying side to side in that graceful, seductive way. each move carefully judged, but without effort. falling exactly on the beat. every move perfect.

i can hear the tune in the back of my mind, when i close my eyes and see you dance. despite the somewhat hard, industrial edge, every note is somehow softened when you dance to it. you seem full of surprises, always keeping me guessing and then revealing some tantalising and exciting piece of information. i wouldn't have thought the sound suited you. but when i thought about it, visualised it, it somehow seemed right. it suited you perfectly.

and so that deep, hypnotic arc from start to finish was made. just over 60 minutes of memories, each tempo change started another synapse firing, bringing another image to mind. i know this sounds like the crazed ramblings of a man obsessed, but really it's just the way i think of people. that is the way i think of you. someone once asked me who would be the most interesting person i could meet. the answer is simple - the very next person i do actually meet.

you fascinated me and interested me. and that is why i crafted it. it is for you only. it was made with you in mind.

Upsideclone is now shuttered and no longer taking submissions.

Upsideclown is an evil cartel of seven who only write in a certain style on certain days of the week, and refuse to expand. Fah, say we! Upsideclone (this site, incase you hadn't noticed) serves to subvert the name of clown and to bring others into the fold.

If you've read Upsideclown and old articles here, you get the idea. Submissions are always welcome: We operate a strictly hands-off editorial approach (we won't even correct your spelling). Once submitted, your article goes to the vote by the seven clowns. A majority, and you're in the queue for Friday publications. Go on -- submissions@upsideclone.com. And if you want to know more, hints or clarifications: come ask us in talk.
